Acupuncture
Services
Acupuncture is a form of treatment that involves inserting very thin needles through a person’s skin at specific points on the body, called acupuncture points, to various depths. By stimulating these acupuncture points, we are allowing the proper flow of QI throughout the meridians to restore the body’s balance and encourage the natural healing response.
What to Expect
TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Acupuncture treats you physically, emotionally, and mentally by strengthening the mind-body connection. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years in order to help millions of people.
Health is a result of harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of yin and yang, and of the life force known as QI, pronounced “chi.” Illness is a result of an imbalance of these. A simpler, more medical explanation is when acupuncture needles are put into specific points, the body releases endorphins to the region which act as a natural pain killing response, decrease inflammation, and decrease muscle tightness and tension. This makes acupuncture effective for a wide range of musculoskeletal ailments and inflammatory diseases.
Dr. Ginter will take a very detailed patient history to determine what imbalances you may have in your body. We will check your pulse and tongue and conduct a visual inspection in order to gather more information about your condition. From there, we develop a formula of acupuncture points that is right for your body and the imbalance you have. Because of the long history of Acupuncture, certified Acupuncturists like Dr. Ginter have been able to successfully determine which specific acupuncture points work best for certain conditions.
